The trailer of Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan starrer Sui Dhaaga was unveiled today and it has already managed to win the audiences. The film that stars Varun in the role of a tailor and Anushka as an embroidery artist is based on the ‘Make In India’ campaign. Present at the trailer launch, Anushka shared how she had the opportunity to meet and interact with the local artisans during the shoot of this Sharat Kataria directorial. The actress spoke about her interaction with the artists who work on Chanderi saris and everything that goes in the making of such crafts at the trailer launch of her next.
She said, “My dad was in Army. So we used to travel a lot within India and my mom had this habit of picking local handlooms and handicrafts. I have been exposed to that. So even if I’m shooting somewhere like if I’m shooting in West Bengal I would like to pick up local stuff. All the girls will agree to this. I have always done this and everyone must do that. It’s a very unique thing like handlooms and handicrafts are unique to our country. A lot of international designers use this art in their work. So, I think we should take a lot of pride in it. Hopefully, with this film, people will understand what all goes into it and how difficult and hard is to make those saris. One Chanderi sari sometimes takes twenty-five days to make, imagine.”
ncredible much. Sui Dhaaga stars Varun and Anushka are surely here to inspire many who believe in keeping the art alive.
